Ever since I was little, my dad has done crazy, scary stuff for Halloween. I think he got some of his inspiration from The Haunted Mansion at Disney World. Our house was always one of the scariest houses to trick-or-treat. I think that some parents skipped our house all together so that their kids wouldn't have nightmares.
For the past four years Dad has rotated taking his stuff to Texas and Oklahoma. This year was our year. Sorry Heidi. We set up in the morning on Saturday to make sure that everything was in the right spot and working properly. It looked awesome. We used caution tape to herd kids down a path leading to the candy table. They had to pass to creepy, hissing, and moving zombies, go under the archway, past the coffin with the dead man trying to get out, and then finally they were at the candy table. Unfortunately, they also had to get candy from the hissing snake and the scary guy holding the bowl who was blowing air at them. And if that isn't scary enough, a zombie popped out of a hidden hole in the table right after they got their candy. Oh, and did I mention all of the live creepy people/things that were stalking around. They tended to sneak up behind them when they weren't paying attention.
This year I decided to make my kids into mummies rather than the typical store bought costumes I usually get. They turned out so awesome. Caleb's mom came as an awesome scary witch this year. She met the trick-or-treaters at the start of our driveway.
