Pack Campout

Part of our campsite. No, that isn't our KU canopy. Ours is to the left of it and is plain blue. The KU one is on our wish list though.

Pack 897 had their annual pack campout this weekend at Greenleaf State Park. We got home around noon today. It was a lot of fun. Kaden's den did a lot of stuff. Their community service project yesterday was picking up trash. They also made pinecone bird feeders, went hiking, played games, fished, and performed a skit at pack bonfire. Kaden's leaders let Kasia participate in a lot of the activities. Cian did great also. I am uploading pictures and will post them as get a chance. Here are a few.

New Uniform

Last night Kaden got to wear his cub scout uniform for the first time. He was so excited. While he was at school yesterday, Cheryl came by and helped me get all of his patches on it. I couldn't resist taking a few pictures of him last night before his den meeting. Even though it looks like I posed him, I really didn't. I guess it just shows that I have taken a lot of pics of him over the years. Tomorrow we leave for the weekend camping trip. Hopefully the weather stays fairly nice (not a lot of rain). I am taking Cian too and that wouldn't be much fun.

More Blue Grass Pics
The Koehn Twins

Our friends, Austin and Corley, came by for a visit yesterday afternoon. We had only seen their boys once before and that was a few days after they were born. Boy have they grown a ton. While Kaden was challenging Austin to some Mario Kart, Corley and I took the younger kids outside to play. I couldn't resist getting a few shots of them playing. When the big boys came outside after playing Wii I discovered that Austin may have finally met his match. He has always been one of the best video game players I've known, but I believe he only beat Kaden once. For those of you who think that playing video games isn't a workout and not good for your kids need to watch Kaden play. He bounces, jumps, runs around, and dances while he plays. He looks like he has been running for hours when he gets done. We let the kids play a little longer last night before our friends had to head home. We are definetly going to have to try and see each other more often. It was so much fun.

Cub Scouts
Wow, this week has been so busy. We signed Kaden up for Cub Scouts on Monday evening at his school's pack meeting. All five of us went to the meeting. Kaden loved it. Of course, so did Kasia. She thinks that she is joining Cub Scouts too. Yesterday, while Kaden was still in school, we went to Tulsa and got his Wolf uniform and handbook. He was so excited when he got home and tried it all on. His first den meeting was last night. He earned his first badge (bobcat). We also talked about the big camping trip they have coming up the end of this month. We are planning on all going for both nights. I am hoping the weather will be nice since I am taking Cian. They have a lot of activities planned for Saturday and Sunday morning. Kaden did ask us last night why we have to go too. We had to explain that it is a family camping trip and that he isn't quite old enough for a parentless one.

Big Weekend

We have been having a fun weekend. My sister, Heidi, Payton, and Avery are visiting. They got in late Friday night and will be here until Monday afternoon. Yesterday we had a late birthday celebration for Kaden with a few of his friends from school and Payton and Avery. We were scheduled to have a pool party at the Y, but unfortunately due to someone having an accident in the pool right before we got there that was canceled. We ended up eating cupcakes, opening presents and playing in the Y's group fitness room. After we had run out of fun things to do we all met at Centennial Park and let all of the kids play on the play equipment. Even though it was not what we had planned, everyone had a great time. I will post pics from the party as soon as I get a chance to upload them.
Heidi took these awesome pictures of Cian yesterday. He is 5 1/2 weeks and already weighs more than 11 pounds. She is also going to try and get some pictures of my family and also of MiMi and PaPa with all 5 of their grandkids. That should be very difficult. I may have to do some crazy stunts while she is taking them if we are going to get them all to be good and smile.
