The Pioneer Woman

Yesterday afternoon while I was checking out updates on facebook, I discovered that the Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond, was going to be launching her cookbook tour at the Tulsa Historical Society in Tulsa. My sister has been a fan of hers for awhile now. After hearing about her from Heidi, mom and I started checking her out. Her blog is very witty and I really like her photography and cooking sites. Ok, I'm rambling now. Anyways, after checking with Caleb to see if he would watch Kaden and Kasia I decided to take Cian and go to the signing. I also asked our friend Julie if she would like to go with me. She agreed to go even though she had never heard of the Pioneer Woman. We were glad we got there early because they sold out of books not long after us. It was a fun event. We got free t-shirts, cupcakes, and bottled coke. Ree did a short q&a and then started signing books. After 2 hours of waiting I finally got mine signed. The goodness is we got to sit during this time and not stand in a long line. Also I would like to say that Cian is the best baby. He did so good through the entire event. He wasn't fussy and slept part of the time. If you haven't heard of her, check her out at www.thepioneerwoman.com.
Thank you Julie for taking this picture. She had to use my phone because Kasia wasn't happy when I left my house and I forgot to grab my camera in my quick escape. Also, it was almost 10:00 last night when this picture was taken so we were all getting a little tired.

Tinker Bell

Last Saturday we went to Eagle Fest at Kasia's school. Kasia recently got a Tinker Bell costume and she wanted to wear it to the festival. After she got her costume on, me being a great mom decided to doll her up with some makeup. She looked so cute. I snapped a few quick pics of her before we left. Caleb's sister, Andi, and Ryon were in town and they went with us. The kids played games, jumped in an inflatable obstacle course, and Kasia did a pony ride. It was a lot of fun. Later that night Caleb informed me that I am not allowed to put makeup on Kasia anymore. Apparently it bothered him seeing his little girl so done up. Of course, I will though.

Robbers Cave State Park

We are enjoying our last day of fall break at home. We had a great weekend. We went to Robbers Cave State Park on Saturday. It was fun hiking and exploring.

Pumpkin Patch Cont.

Kasia wasn't sure about the cold temperatures when she got off the bus.

She warmed up quickly though. She loved the maze.

Field Trip - Pumpkin Patch

Kasia's class went on a field trip to Shepherd's Cross Pumpkin Patch in Claremore yesterday. She had a great time despite the cold.
Kasia on the hay ride.
She was a little unhappy that I sat by her. She really wanted to sit by her teacher.
Kasia was so excited about getting to ride a big bus. That is all she had been talking about the past few weeks.
Kasia's camera smile.
Poor Cian. This is the only picture I got of him. It was just too cold.

Oklahoma Aquarium

Big Weekend

My Mom and Grandma visited this weekend. They arrived on Friday and left this morning after a pancake breakfast. We had a lot of fun. They all enjoyed spending time with Grandma Mae. On Saturday we enjoyed a visit to the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks. The kids loved all of the strange fish and sharks. Kaden and Kasia fed pieces of fish to the turtles and both made souvenir coins out of pennies. The weekend went by too fast.

Bobcat

On Monday, before we went to Kaden's pack meeting we decided to stop at a few neighbors houses and see if they wanted to buy popcorn. My kids were quite a sight. Kaden had on his cub scout uniform and Kasia had on a cute outfit accessorized with Fancy Nancy tutu. At the meeting Kaden received his bobcat patch/pin. It was really neat they put stripe of blue paint on one cheek, yellow on the other, and white on their forehead. They also had one of the parents pin their patch on their son. We had taken Kasia up with us. They painted her face too. And if you're wondering about the tutu, yes she still had it on. I think one of our friends got a picture of us. If I can get a copy of it I'll add it to this post.
